Most Requested Execution Algorithms
We are always impressed with the trade ideas our clients come to us with. After 6 dozen successful collaborations, one of our most requested services is to design algos. Regardless of use case, we build these tools with our clients’ visions in mind, ensuring a long shelf life and a major value-add.
Here are the top 5 most client-requested execution algos in no particular order.
- Stacker
This is a queue-preserving stack of orders for first in first out (FIFO) futures markets. It derives its theoretical midpoint from a client’s pricing model.
- Flow Detector for Covers
A logic library tailored for each client and each situation. This algo reacts after seeing how the market fills your order, and then decides what targets to aim for. This is a microstructure play in essence.
- Multi-Leg Spreader
This spreader can have any number of legs and, for each leg, has different aggressiveness settings for getting filled. These are very popular for large equity basket position trading (many legs must get filled at once) or for short-term interest rate (STIR) trading where each fill happens slowly. Each leg is managed independently based on what’s happening in the front of its book.
- Scatter Fire
This cover logic splits an order into random quantities at random prices within a range. This can be built as an iceberg order type if needed.
- Creative Berg
Our proprietary iceberg is designed to fill orders at better prices than exchange-native iceberg orders during certain market events like sweeps.
Each of the above is a general category and not an off-the-shelf tool. Every new project is unique and tailored. We have built these tools for futures trading platforms, equity and equity options trading, and cryptocurrency exchanges.
